Portrait of Sylvie Deroche

About me

Relationships, intimacy, and sexuality can be sources of connection, fulfilment, and pleasure, but they can also become places of distress, uncertainty or conflict.

Whether you are experiencing difficulties in your relationship, struggling with sexual concerns, navigating a life transition, or feeling stuck in recurring patterns, therapy can provide a space to understand what is happening and find a way forward.

I work online with individuals and couples across the UK and internationally, offering a confidential and thoughtful space to explore your concerns at a pace that feels right for you. My approach is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, relational and psychosexual perspectives to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and your experiences.

Qualifications and Experience

My professional training spans both the UK and France. I am a psycho-sexologist certified by the European Federation of Sexology (EFS) and the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM). I trained at Tavistock Relationships in London and at the University of Paris VIII in France. I hold an MA in Psychodynamic Couple Counselling (with Merit), a Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy (with Distinction), and a degree in Psychology equivalent to a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Psychology.

Alongside my private practice, I am currently a Supervisor and Academic Tutor at Tavistock Relationships. My previous roles there included working as an Assessor and Visiting Clinician. I have also worked as an Honorary Psychosexual Therapist within an NHS sexual problems clinic in London.

Being fully bilingual, I provide therapy in both English and French.

Professional Memberships

I am an accredited member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), a full Clinical Psychotherapist with the UKCP College for Sexual and Relationship Psychotherapy (CSRP), and a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS). The ethical standards and professional codes of these organisations guide my work.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and regular clinical supervision to ensure that my practice remains ethical, effective and informed by current thinking and research.
